A NOTE FROM ALEX...

Mid-2021 I embarked upon a creative partnership with HerCanberra as the author of its regular "Ask A Results Coach" column. At the time, the column was designed to answer the most commonly asked questions I receive as a coach - aiming to provide a free resource for anyone feeling lost, stuck or overwhelmed in the height of COVID-19 lock down. We never dreamed the column would solve all the problems in the world, but we hoped it might provide people with a place to start in times of struggle.

Still, never could I have imagined the number of real and raw questions that would soon appear in my inbox from everyday members of the community. Nor could I have foreseen how many wonderful humans would enter my life: inspiring me with their honest stories of vulnerability, struggle and courage in challenging times. The column reviews provide a snapshot of some of the generous words I have received in return for my own, making the journey so very worthwhile. In turn, I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has taken the time to submit a question, start a conversation or provide me with a personal note of feedback.

If you would like to submit a question of your own, reach out and get in touch.

WARRIOR WOMEN: STEPS TOWARDS A CURE

A NOTE FROM ALEX....

In 2016, my work with Inspired Adventures afforded me the privilege of leading 23 incredibly brave women on a demanding eleven day trek along the Great Wall of China. This adventure was delivered in partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to raise awareness and investment for breast cancer research in Australia and New Zealand. At least 50% of these women were survivors of breast cancer themselves, yet 100% had direct experience with an immediate family member or friend being diagnosed with the disease.

On this journey I encountered women with remarkable courage and resilience. But what left the greatest impression on me was the special kind of gratitude and zest for life these incredible ladies shared not in spite of, but by virtue of, the difficulties they had faced grappling with breast cancer. These women were warrior women for a cause that had changed the course of their livesThey inspired me to be one too.
